A homestay or farmstay visit is a perfect way to experience another culture firsthand. Travel that allows visitors to become active participants in another culture gives them a deeper look into the country’s people and customs. In this way, visitors come to a better understanding of the culture than they might travelling only as observers. Contact Canada regards the homestay or farmstay element in our programmes as the central and most important educational component of our programmes. Great care, therefore, is taken by our coordinators to ensure that the experience is a truly positive one for both host and participant.

The programmes outlined in the following pages are only a sampling of the type of programmes we are capable of arranging. We can combine any type of learning programme with a homestay experience: English, snowboarding, skiing, ballroom dancing, wine tasting, ice hockey etc.. The itineraries on the following pages provide only a minimum amount of information on each programme’s content. English Classes
Contact Canada’s English classes are designed to give students practice communicating in English while introducing them to popular Canadian culture. Instructors teach students the customs and language needed to help them communicate with and get to know their host families better. Content and language functions are also linked to the vocabulary and language patterns the students may require for communication during their afternoon programming.

The maximum class size is 15 students and all quotations are based on 1 to 15 student teacher ratio. All students receive a certificate of completion for all programmes.
