Contact Canada's HOMESTAY
PROGRAMME is very popular with both groups and individuals who want
to make Canadian friends, improve their English, and learn about Canadian
culture while pursuing an educational programme in their particular field
of interest.
Contact Canada takes great care in the selection of host families.
We ensure that students are matched with appropriate hosts by taking into
consideration their wants and needs as well as the location of the school
or institution they will be attending.
Host Screening
Process
All potential host families are required to submit an application
form along with personal references to a Contact Canada office. After
checking references, a homestay coordinator arranges to meet and interview
the family at their home. Only those families which can provide both a
physically comfortable place to live and a friendly and nurturing environment
are asked to become host families. Students are provided with a room,
a desk, a bed, and three healthy meals per day.
Contact Canada's homestay coordinators are
available for counseling purposes five days a week and 24 hours a day
in the case of emergencies. Counseling can be provided in English, Japanese,
Korean, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
