What is Working Farmstay?
Contact Canada’s farmstay program is for English language students who are interested in immersing themselves in an English-speaking environment and who have an interest in learning about life in the Canadian countryside.

What is Country Stay?
Country stay is for those people who do not possess a work permit and want to enjoy a countryside
"paid-homestay at Farm" with hosting family.
Who can participate?
The participants must be 18yrs/19yrs and older (NO minors).
Most farms are far away from cities or towns. It is very important that all participants be prepared to participate enthusiastically on the farm and become active members of the family.

       AREAS:   British Columbia (Vancouver Island, Langley), Prince Edward Island
Participants pay the placement fee only; they do not pay the farmstay fee. Participants must have a good command of English and be holders of a valid work permit from Canadian Immigration. Participants need to work up to 40 hours in exchange for room and board but must stay on the farm for at least one month and maximum 3 months. 
Country Stay

Participants enjoy country life in a small community, do not work and share a life with host family. Participants pay the placement fee and the following country stay fee. Minimum stay is 1 week and maximum is 1 month. Host may be farmer, ranch operator, B&B operator, camp ground operator or outdoor activity operator.

NOTE: 1, Country stay beyond 4 weeks is not available.
               For stays of less than one week, a one week fee will apply.
           2, * GST is exempted for 1 month country stay.
Host family or local coordinator provide transportation from airport or bus depot or train station etc. Mandatory recommendation to be given by coordinator based on the each condition.

Payment Policy
1.       The entire placement fee is due at the time of application and is non-refundable except in cases where a farm cannot be found. Credit card payment is accepted. A $60.00 non-refundable deposit will be charged to applicants applying in person at a local office.
2.       After a farm confirmed, applicant must pay the full amount of stay period with pick up fee if required.
Cancellation Policy
1.       All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
2.       If notice of cancellation is received less than 14 days prior to the start date: the placement fee;
A maximum of one month’ country stay fee; and the GST will not be refunded
NOTE: All participants are required to have medical insurance.
